The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Rochester Reapers are set to begin play when the 2026-2027 season begins this fall.
“We are very pleased and proud to have Chaniah Martino, a Rochester businesswoman, as the owner, stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Chaniah has both the business and basketball background to be very successful on and off the court and we’re looking for great things from her organization and her.”
“The Rochester Reapers will be a professional basketball team proudly representing the city of Rochester with grit, passion and relentless intensity,” added Mrs. Martino. “We will be built on a foundation of toughness and teamwork and will embody the hard work, resilience and an unwavering commitment to excellence.”

Our style of play will combine physical defense, high basketball IQ and explosive transition scoring, creating an exciting brand of basketball that will keep fans on their feet from tip-off to the final buzzer.”
