Clearwater Krakens to Join the ABA in 2027

Indianapolis, IN.  The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Clearwater Krakens located in Clearwater, FL have joined the ABA and will begin play in 2027.

"We are really pleased to have Coach Chris Kolaxis and Hard2Guard Basketball as part of the ABA," stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. "Chris has spent more than 25 years developing athletes, creating opportunities and serving the Tampa Bay basketball community. They are going to fit in beautifully in our South Region, and we're excited to have them."

"Now with the Clearwater Krakens taking the next step, we're building a true pathway to the pros," added Kolaxis. "From youth development to high school, college, international basketball, and the professional level, our mission is to give athletes a place to develop, compete, gain exposure, and pursue the next level. We're thrilled to be a part of the ABA."
