High Point Pistons Set to Begin Play in 2026

The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the High Point Pistons, located in High Point NC, have been added to its record-setting expansion for the 2026-2027 season.

“We are very pleased to have Mrs. Catina Scales- Johnson as part of the ABA,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “She has quite an impressive background and should make a great owner.”

Mrs. Scales-Johnson is a veteran of the US Army, is currently employed with the US Postal Service, is a full time student at Strayer University completing her BA Degree in Business Administration and owner of Blessed Dressed Designs by Teena.

A former Assistant Coach of The Carolina Astros professional basketball team, “my son and I became the first mother and son on a professional basketball team,” added Mrs. Scales-Johnson. “I have loved basketball since I was a little girl and owning an ABA team is a life-long dream. Coach Boom is my nickname and I am going to do everything I can to be a successful owner on and off the court.”
