The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Charlotte Angels and the Danville Devils have been added to the growing roster of teams set to begin play in November 2026.

“These are the second and third teams owned by Grady Slade, Jr, CEO of the Reidsville Reapers,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Grady recently launched Slade Sports Media & Entertainment Group, LLC, a professional sports and media company headquartered in Reidsville NC. The company will serve as the parent organization for Slade’s expanding portfolio of professional sports teams and media platforms.”

Slade Sports Media & Entertainment Group LLC will operate its professional sports teams, television network, podcast productions, and radio programming. The launch represents a major step in building a fully integrated professional sports and media enterprise designed to connect athletes, fans and communities through high-level competition and innovative content.

“This has been a long term vision coming to life,” added Slade. “By establishing our headquarters in Reidsville, we are positioning ourselves as the hub for professional sports operations, live event coverage, original programming, digital media and broadcast content. The company aims to elevate professional sports at the regional level while providing expanded exposure through TV, radio and digital platforms.”

Additional details regarding ABA league play, team operations, schedules and future sports ventures will be announced in the coming months.
