Cross Bronx Ballers to Join ABA for 2027-28 Season

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Cross Bronx Ballers will be joining the league for the 2027-2028 season.
"We are very happy to have Bernard Williams, the Founder and Owner of the team as part of the ABA. He is a Bronx-raised entrepreneur with deep roots in New York City basketball," stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. "He founded the team with a mission to create professional basketball opportunities for talented players while building an organization that serves and represents the Bronx community."
"I was born at Harlem Hospital and raised in the Bronx," added Williams. "I developed my
appreciation for basketball through NYC's competitive basketball culture. My connection to the game was shaped by legendary NY basketball environments, including Rucker Park, the Kingdome, Gun Hill, and Hoops in the Sun. Those experiences gave me a first-hand understanding of the extraordinary basketball talent that exists throughout NYC and particularly the Bronx."
He continued: "Community involvement and youth development is central to my vision for
the Cross Bronx Ballers, and we will create opportunities for players whose basketball careers might otherwise end after high school, college or local competition. The Cross Bronx Ballers are bigger than basketball. We are building a platform where players can earn opportunities, young people can develop, businesses can become community partners, and the Bronx can have a professional basketball organization it is proud to call its own."
