Waterbury Sharks Added to ABA 2026 Roster of Teams

The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Waterbury Sharks located in Waterbury CT has been added to its record-setting number of expansion teams for the 2026-2027 season.
“This is another great addition to the very strong and powerful Northeastern region,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “With weather conditions as they are in the northeast during the ABA season, having these teams makes travel easier, competition better.”
The team will be owned by Broadway Jones, a proud native of Waterbury. Jones is a visionary entrepreneur, creative force and community builder whose work is deeply rooted in elevating his city. He is the founder of LuxeGang, a concert promotion company known for curating high-energy, culture-driven experiences. LuxeGang BullyCam, a premier dog breeding company built on discipline, quality and care and LuxeGang Basketball, a platform dedicated to opportunity, excellence and community impact.
