The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Phoenix Nomads have been added to the league’s expansion for the upcoming season which begins in October. “We definitely needed an additional team in the Phoenix area,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “And in Owner/Coach James Cotton, we’ve found the perfect person. He is going to do a great job there.”
Coach Cotton is originally from Chicago where he played both high school and college basketball before moving to Phoenix in 2000. He has since coached at the high school level over the years prior to putting together a full-time AAU youth program. “I intend to use the ABA platform for players to gain experience, gather film for opportunities to get into the NCAA and overseas. I am thrilled to be a part of this historic league.
