The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Lubbock Heat Wave is set to begin play when the league resumes in November. “With two new teams in West Texas, they can travel both east and west and help fill out schedules in both our West and South Regions,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “It is great to have a former ABA player moving onto ownership of two professional basketball teams; we are very pleased and excited.”
“I know we have a lot to do between now and the start of the season,” added Quenion Hines, the team owner and leader of both the Lubbock Heat Wave and Amarillo Shock, “but we’re definitely up to the task and will represent the ABA well both on and off the court.”
