The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Amarillo Shock located in Amarillo TX will begin play when the league resumes in the fall. “It is great to be returning to West Texas after a several year hiatus,” stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. “Long overdue and a great fit with our new New Mexico and Colorado teams. This is one of two new teams in West Texas.”

The team will be owned by Quenion Hines, a former ABA player. Raised between the Bronx NY and Plainview TX, Quenion brings a unique blend of grit, culture and passion to the game. “With a strong foundation in competitive basketball,” added Hines, “I am committed to developing talent, building winning programs and creating opportunities for athletes across West Texas.”
