ABA Partners with HoopsBI to Strengthen Player Career Intelligence

The American Basketball Association (ABA) has partnered with HoopsBI to give players, alumni, teams and owners greater access to verified basketball market intelligence. The collaboration is designed to help athletes make more informed career decisions, particularly when evaluating opportunities in overseas markets.
“Part of our responsibility as a league is to help our players prepare for opportunities that extend well beyond their time in the ABA,” said ABA President Damon Cannon. “Our partnership with HoopsBI gives players access to valuable real-world market intelligence that can help them better understand their international basketball options.”
HoopsBI turns the shared experiences of professional players into structured, comparable insights. By aggregating verified information on topics such as market value, coaching and team environments, contract reliability and placement pathways, the platform gives players added context when offers arrive, negotiations begin, and career decisions are on the line.
Through the ABA’s network of teams, coaches, owners and alumni, those insights can reach athletes at critical points in their careers. The partnership is intended to complement agents and personal judgment—not replace them—by providing players with additional information they can use to evaluate opportunities, negotiate with greater context and make choices aligned with their long-term goals.
ABA owners can also use the intelligence to better understand compensation trends, identify markets with strong development opportunities and build programs that support alumni placement. The result is a more informed approach to recruiting, player development and career support across the league.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment by the ABA and HoopsBI to greater transparency, accountability and better outcomes for basketball professionals. By combining the ABA’s reach with HoopsBI’s data-driven approach, the organizations aim to create a stronger support system for players navigating the global basketball marketplace.
